Special Citizens' Committee Assisting Village with Planning and Preparations; Special events to be held throughout 2018

Port Chester, N.Y. --  With the Village of Port Chester's 150th anniversary less than a year away, members of the Sesquicentennial Committee are putting wheels in motion for a celebration featuring a variety of activities and events to be held throughout 2018.

The Sesquicentennial Committee is the official organization charged with planning and orchestrating festivities to commemorate Port Chester's May 14, 1868 incorporation as a village of New York's Westchester County.

The committee was formed in January 2017 to support and assist Village staff with the anniversary celebration, including outreach to local business and community organizations. Ultimately, committee leaders hope to mix business with pleasure by celebrating Port Chester Pride and raising regional awareness of what the venerable village has to offer.

Proposed activities will appeal to residents of all ages and will include community gatherings and events celebrating the Village's history.
